Thanksgiving and Christmas are full of small details that make a big difference: a handwritten tag on a gift, a little favor for a guest, a cozy new wallpaper on your phone. These are easy, low-cost touches, and you can make them at home in a few minutes. Here is how I do it, plus the printables I made to save you the work.
Printable Gift Tags for Thanksgiving and Christmas
Gift tags are the fastest way to make a present, a jar of homemade treats or a place setting look special. Each of my sets has 27 tags on 3 pages, with 9 designs in 3 colors, "To" and "From" lines on every tag, a hole for ribbon and dashed lines for cutting. You print, cut, write the names and tie them on.
- Thanksgiving Gift Tags: pumpkin, leaf, acorn, turkey, pie, corn, sunflower, cider mug and apple, in cream, rust and olive green. Great for hostess gifts, party favors and treat bags. Get the Thanksgiving gift tags here.
- Christmas Gift Tags: tree, bauble, star, holly, snowman, gift box, candy cane, stocking and bell, in cream, red and green with gold details. Get the Christmas gift tags here.
What You Need to Print Gift Tags at Home
You do not need anything fancy, just a printer and a few simple supplies. These are the ones I would pick:
Cardstock Paper (65 lb)
Regular paper works, but cardstock makes tags that stand up and feel like real gift tags. A 65 lb white cardstock is thick enough without jamming most home printers.
Single Hole Punch (1/4 inch)
A small hand punch gives you a clean hole for the ribbon, much neater than scissors.
Natural Jute Twine
Natural twine goes with both the fall and Christmas colors, and one roll will do dozens of gifts.
Paper Trimmer
If you are cutting many tags, a paper trimmer gives you straight, even edges and saves time compared to scissors.
How to Print and Make Your Tags
- Download the PDF after purchase and open it.
- Print on cardstock at "Actual size" or 100% (not "Fit to page").
- Cut along the dashed lines with scissors or a paper trimmer.
- Punch the hole at the top.
- Write the names, thread the twine through and tie it to your gift.
Cozy Phone Wallpapers for the Season
Changing your wallpaper is the easiest way to get into the holiday mood. Each set has 10 wallpapers sized 1170 x 2532 px, which fits most modern iPhone and Android phones.
- Thanksgiving Phone Wallpapers: pumpkin, fall leaf, turkey, pie and more, in warm autumn colors. Get the Thanksgiving wallpapers here.
- Christmas Phone Wallpapers: tree, bauble, snowman, star and more, in cream, red and green with gold details. Get the Christmas wallpapers here.
To set one up, save the image to your phone, open it in your photo gallery and choose "Use as wallpaper".
A Few Simple Ideas for Using Your Gift Tags
- Tie a tag around a jar of homemade jam, cookies or hot cocoa mix.
- Use them as place cards at the Thanksgiving table by writing each guest's name.
- Attach one to a bottle of wine or a candle as a hostess gift.
- Hang them on a small branch or garland as holiday decoration.
- Let kids write the names on the gifts, it makes wrapping a family activity.
Final Thoughts
You do not need to spend a lot to make the holidays feel special. A few printed tags, a roll of twine and a new wallpaper are small touches that people notice. Prices and availability on Amazon can change, so check the current price on the product page.
